Thanks for dropping by the Southern Maryland Brain Injury Support Group Weblog. Our Support Group is affiliated with the Brain Injury Association of Maryland.
The purpose of this weblog is to function as a source of important brain injury information, mutual support, encouragement, friendship, and fun for the brain injured survivors, their caregivers and families who live in Southern Maryland.
Our major objectives are to:
- Increase brain injury knowledge,
- Increase survivor’s independence,
- Increase brain injury awareness,
- Decrease survivor and caregiver feelings of isolation, and
- Improve the survivors quality of life.
We know from experience that brain injured survivors and their family can feel isolated, lonely, and sometimes depressed. Helen Keller said it so well, “When one door closes, another opens. But we often look so regretfully upon the closed door that we don’t see the one that has opened for us.”
Come to a meetings and you will see that “you are not alone,” Perhaps, working together we can open some of those closed doors. It’s worth a try.
You have a special invitation to to attend our support group meetings. You have no excuse.
